Cal. 44. S# 78171. Bbl 8" octagon with exposed threads. Semi-circular front sight. Top flat has 3-line address with Sept. 14, 1858 patent date. Round 6 shot cylinder with safety stops. Low spur hammer. Blue finish with brass trigger guard. Major parts have "D", "H" or "W" inspection marks. Walnut 2-pc grips have cartouche on the left panel. Estimated quantity of 122,000 mfg. 1863-1875. CONDITION: metal has faded to brown showing dents & marks. Refinished grips show dents & marks with small chips at the toe & heel. Tight sound action. Lightly pitted bore has intact rifling. (01-29366/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,250.
